Thinking of getting an Alfa Gtv6, and just wondered if anyone knows (or has) an appropriate roof box. Boot space is really the only thing that puts me off.

Thanks

You are totally correct, and I shall probably waken to find a horse's head in my bed! Don't worry, it wouldn't be on permanently. Would only use it for a Euro Road Trip.

I dont think there is such a thing, quite rightly too!!
Use the rear 'seats' for extra boot space, its all they are good for.

Trying to justify a Gtv to the Mrs (especially for a road trip), and little one will be in the back. So need extra space for bags etc, without buying anything other than a Gtv. It would only be for a 2 week trip, there must be a way of getting the car I want!;)

What about a roof bag type thing? Don't think they require bars

Big soft suitcase belted into one of the rear passenger 'seats' and lots of small bags in the boot.... You'll be fine smile

We did a perfectly wonderful 2 weeks in France using a Z3, much less room than a GTV, I used my 1st GTV on a house move, did alright really..

My gtv has a good sized boot because there is no spare wheel in it. Ditch the spare, get a can of gunk and some good breakdown cover but dont tell the mrs!

Don't these mess up your door seals (and scratch the paintwork)?

I've found with my kids in the car a baby seat takes up a lot of room in the back and the front seat has to be slid fully forward. Obviously I tell my wife we all fit in fine smile

Not at all, I've found. It has a foam mat that sits under it and seems to prevent scratching and there's been no problems with the doors. And let's face it, in a GTV, the chances of your doors sealing correctly at the window tops is nigh on impossible anyway so shouldn't matter wink

You sometimes get a 'thrumming' at speed if a strap vibrates in the airstream but going faster solves it.
