Honda lose 800 jobs; Jaguar need 800 workers - too easy?
Discussion
With Honda announcing that they need to shed 800 jobs last week, and Jaguar announcing that they require 800 extra staff at Solihul, is it too simple to suggest that a virtually ready trained workforce of 800 can simply move 90 miles up the road and just carry on working?
Surely someone in Government, local or otherwise, can see this? Or am I being too optimistic?

If u were jag would you want to just take Hondas 800 rejects?
If the state ran all car companies I am sure that might be a possibility but the effecticient allocation of resources is one of the advanntages ofhe free market and I doubt shareholders of jag (Tata) would consider taking the workers Honda deemed with lower utility right now an efficient allocation.
Shame as socially it would be great.

maybe Honda got rid of middle managers and JLR need assembly workers? I dont doubt the Unions will do something good for a change and approach JLR. If it can be done, I am sure it will. But then again, they will need to be trained on a different mindset. Can the Honda production line be stopped at any time, for example, or must it always continue no matter what like Nissan?? Do either use a "no fault forward" approach
