Well, it's the second weekend in January, and my New Years Resolution is going well and sticking to plan!!

If you missed it, this was my post to explain what the NYR was:

Well - basically it is to use the Cerb more this year.

Took the oportunity to go for a gentle trundle out with my 7 year old lad this morning. Bright sunshine but very cold, the green MIL light in Sheffield, then the red MIL light once up onto the moors where there was a very hard frost on the trees, grass etc. Beautiful day out in the Peak District, but as the roads were greasy as hell don't think I ventured over 4000 revs more than a couple of times wink

Red ice light not MIL I hope! I was out for a short drive in the same area and lost traction even at 3k revs.

Never been a climber, but grew up not far away. I used to go running over it 20+ years ago, that would no doubt kill me these days.

Ooops - yeah - I meant ice light not MIL light!!
Only ventured one or two blasts of half throttle acceleration in 2nd and 3rd, was very circumspect as roads greasy and slippery..... AND I had my lad in the car with me, so no silly antics!!

Yes - it is!! Good spot...

I think that's where Stannage Edge goes into Burbage Edge???
It is the minor road that runs up from Higger Tor along the bottom of the Edge above Hathersage. In one of the shots looking out you can just about make out the cement factory at Castleton

Hi Paul,

What with all this snow, someone's gotta do their bit for global warming, eh?
wink

Yes - I'm planning to go to Le Mans this year, it's been three years since last went and this next visit is well overdue. I am working on earning the necessary brownie points with SWMBO at the moment, but as already got Chim owner Roly and a very good mate who will be my passenger on board so far, hoping that it will just become reality through denial of all obstacles.....

How are things with you?

Gotta longstandin' prob with my MIL light which involves reproramming my laptop.

AM off to Le Mans this year too. Last time was '93 so really lookin' forward to it. Motorhome and tents for half a dozen of us on the inside of the 'bike circuit.

Hope to buy you a beer there.
