So, CarFest North will be at Oulton Park this year, which is good news I think! Plenty more places to watch the cars, as that was one of the poorer aspects of Cholmondeley last year...but not sure where the camping will be, Hill Top/Shaw Lane entrance I'm guessing...

Should be good, now to see who's playing!

This is what carfest should have been all along. Set at a track. I've always imagined what if you had a download festival sized crowd at donington park with music and stuff happening on the track. Get a big rock act to shift tickets, wouldn't be hard with the BBCs contacts. It's all for charity and brian johnson loves his cars so imagine AC/DC at Donington with the sound of old F1 cars in the background.

No, it isn't. Only a %age (< 50% if I read it correctly) goes to charity. The rest looks like profit for someone.

Really?

Says, Children In Need.

I would be very surprised if Chris Evans would allow any of this to go elsehwhere!

It says 25% of the ticket price goes to charity.
100% of the ticket price isn't profit. I imagine their costs are pretty substantial.

25% is the minimum that goes to Children In Need :

"WILL ANY MORE MONEY FROM CARFEST NORTH GO TO BBC CHILDREN IN NEED?
In addition to the minimum donation per ticket, all further profits from the running of CarFest North and certain lots sold at the Auctions will be donated to Children in Need. There will be many other activities and events at CarFest North which will donate to BBC Children in Need."

No idea why the venue was changed, it worked well for me and my group. We only had one issue, in that we weren't informed that we couldn't take bottles into the campsite until we got to the entrance on Friday with all our gear. Had a little discussion with the gate operative on that one... I do agree that it'll be better at a proper track, and I hope it means we can get to see an increased number of cars/trucks/tractors etc for longer...and maybe Palmersport will do something as well?!

Bottles still not allowed in camping area - check the camping restrictions on the website - tickets purchased :-)

That's a shame, it's only protectionism for the traders on site, no other reason at all - at least they've changed the restrictions now!

Glad you've got tickets, picked them up my group finally getting through via the direct link sent in an email last night.

If anyone can't get on via the general CarFest website, here are the links:
