Sound no picture via hdmi on 2 tv's

I've a marantz dv6600 up scaling DVD player that has worked perfectly on our oldish toshiba tv for years. A couple of months ago we bought a blu ray player so retired it.
We've a year old toshiba and a brand new technika led upstairs for the kids so decided to use it on one of those. On both of them the picture flashes up for a couple of seconds then disappears leaving the audio. I've tried different leads and hdmi sockets but still the same.
The menus on both the tv's are the same so presumably the internals are made by the same people ?
I can't see anything in the tv settings that I can tweak, i get the same no matter what output i select on the dvd (576p/720p/1080) anyone any suggestions as to how to get it to work?
