Prescription sunglasses

OK, not sure where this needs to be, seems apt here. After some wrap around glasses, Oakleys to be exact, on a prescription. The prescription bit is apparently an insert into the wrap around. Local shop that deals with them have been unable to get a sample (yes they do) to see how well they blend in despite much promises that they are in the post from Ireland.
Anyone with a pair, any brand really, with blended sort your eye bit in? How well do they work etc? Worth a punt or a non starter?

The only frames that don't have complete prescription lenses from Oakley are the Radars and M frames (there may a ladies one, Commit I think, but assume that's not the one you want!)
On these they cut and replace a section of the shield with the prescription section. They don't blend them as such.

Bear in mind you can swop these shields quite easily but the cost is 2/3 biased towards the prescription shields in a whole pair.

I've had a pair of Adidas Climacool for yonks. 6,7 years? Insert, works well, never fallen out, used as sunglasses and goggles in some pretty demanding conditions (watersports mainly)
Insert is invisible behind the light mirror tint, which reminds me, these are now a little scratched so a few quid should find some replacements.

What do you want them for?
Radars and Jawbones are quite sports specific designs. Great for their purpose but don't really look great sat on the beach if you want them to multitask.
We sell a lot more Flak Jackets or a split jacket is very similar to a Jawbone but without the flanges and aerodynamic add ons. All Lance Armstrong designed you know (well he helped apparently).

I do a lot of driving for work and found my current set about spot on, half jacket array to be exact. Had them many years, iridium prefered (all polarised). Then the peepers needed adjusting on a recent optician visit so looked again at what was available, the prescription was for reading but the far bit needs a slight correction hence the sun glasses now need sorting. I like the wrap around, don't care if they are for skiing or cycling, the non prescription ones I tried at the shop seemed to tick the boxes. Only issue was the unknown with the prescription add in. Like I said, the shop had promised there was a demo pair that they could show me but they never appeared.

Not only does DKL have some expertise, he's provided some prescription Oakleys to my other half. He's had a few sunglasses made since I've been with him, and although they're not wrap around, they have been the best so far.
Still trying to find the best pair of snowboarding goggles that he can wear over the top (inserts didn't cut it). We're on our 3rd pair!

If you don't need the protective aspect of polycarbonate then don't have it.
Oakley make a cracking job of wrapped prescription lenses in an awful optical material but even they would admit that PC is not nearly the best material to use. It is of course virtually unbreakable so for action stuff, skiing, snowboarding, MTB then its ideal.
Serengetis are glass (although they do have a PC option)and it has much better optical performance.
Downsides - frames are rather more classic in their appearance, certainly nothing like a Radar. Its tempered glass but glass all the same so if you drop them too often they will break but they won't scratch so easily as PC. Swings and roundabouts really.

Cheers for the input. From what you say an what I do, I think Oakley will be the fellas. I have dropped them in the past, now on a thingamabob around my neck but I get somewhere then start mucking around without taking them off and the still get the odd knock.
Think I will bite the bullet and visit the optic shop again.
