Why you should keep your car protected

Just thought i would share a few pics of a Db9 that had been left outside (not sure where) with no protection on the paintwork. It was in a bad way and could happen to any of your cars if you dont look after them.

Im sure you guys would never let your cars get like this one:







Look at the difference after lots of polishing:











Before i get banned again for advertising (which im not), this was just an extreme example of what could happen if you dont look after your car.

• No gazeebos were harmed in the making of this thread.

Fair Point Francis - mine is snug as a bug under a 4 layer outdoor cover from AMOC.....waiting for the snow.....that never came

Mine is nicely tucked up, under a blanket of snow..... Only for this winter, I intend moving before the end of the year

Hi David. I seem to have a blurred/fuzzy memory that your car was in Wales and you were in Soho - at least u were last time I saw you - Still the same or are you getting to use the car more?

I'm tempted to think what's the point of looking after the paintwork when someone like Francis can come along and get it back to looking so good!

He can't work miracles
Once the clear coat is knackered it's respray time
Stone chips and deeper scratches won't touched either

I guess the only sensible option is therefore not to use it....

Hi matey,

The car was up in Wales as I was taking the train back Friday for the Mad Friday* (Wales thing I think, but probably spread) procession in the local town. So it meant the car was up there over Christmas, done about 700 miles since buying now, sadly only 10 in the last 2 weeks. She's in Reading with me at the minute. (Have seen another 2 vantages since, hmph)

• Mad Friday - essentially the Friday before Christmas, everyone that's escaped the local town of no hope and no glory returns to see their families and friends that may also have escaped. Drinking usually commences at mid day and ends when you drop/are arrested/knocked out by a local bad lad (I like option #1). The valley commandos are out in force and will fight anything that moves, thankfully they avoid us lot but its a cracking night out

This year was a new high, at 4pm I did a burger run for the boys and the kebab house were fitting CCTV especially for the evening.
