Dubai and Fujairah hotels

2 questions about UAE hotels. Any hints appreciated.

- I know there is a lot of development along the Jumiera Beach area right now, and we've been there in the past, but can anyone confirm which hotels are near the work? I believe there is some kind of huge marina being built at the moment as well as The Palm islands thingumy.

- Secondly, has anyone ever been to Fujairah in the UAE? Any recommendations?

- Any info on Hilton hotels in both locations? (I see they exist, but what are they REALLY like?). I have 180,000 Hilton points to use and we're planning a trip to Dubai and Fujairah in early November. I'm a little concerned in case Fujairah's full of US military types (someone told me this, not sure whether to believe them).

the work is right down the other end from the Burj - ie as you approach the Burj with the Jumeira Beach hotel hotel on its right, all the work is right down the left hand end from there.

Don't know if this will be of any use to you as things have probably changed since but ...

Stayed in the Royal Mirage last February. Great hotel.
There was alot of work going on and although it was a fair way out to sea it was a bit of an eyesore.

Was aware of the noise even though it was in the distance(day and night)and although it didn't spoil the holiday I must admit I would have preferred a better view from the beach!

Despite all that had a really good time - fantastic place!
