So, in the past MG have been forced to remove adverts that suggest their cars are moving . . .

. . . but VW are running an advert on radio at the moment (local radio in central Scotland) which suggests that their version of traction/stability control can keep the car on the road whilst going round a frictionless corner . . .

doesn't this just rienforce the common misconception that all these driver aids make an accident impossible and you can be as dumb as you like behind the wheel and you'll be fine . . .

this, in comparison to suggesting that cars _can_ go fast is a different level of stupidity, should this kind of BS be banned ?

And what do you think about the advert where a guy accelerates with Seat leon so hard that a drop of sweat is going backwards ?

Hang on isn't the new Mazda "Zoom Zoom" ad series exactly like the MG ones. Spinning wheels, blurred background... zoom zoom!
FFS just looking at it makes me want to go run something over!

You should see the new BMW ad in the States. 5 series I think. Shows a mum on a school run (kid in back) expertly weaving through a plethora (like that word) of traffic in an accident situation. The tag line is...

"You can either make sure that you are protected in an unavoidable accident, or...

.. you can redifine the word unavoidable..."

Talk about misleading. I'm staying as far away as possible from new bimmers with mums...
