I'm looking for a really simple heart rate monitor to use in the gym.
As long as it shows me my heart rate and doesn't suffer interference with other devices in the gym, I'll be happy. And it should be cheap. Under £50.

Problem: The chest strap has to go around 49 inches and the watch strap has to go around 8 inches.

Suggestions?

Have you looked at the Garmin Forerunner?

I purchased one as a present for my dad ages ago (it was a forerunner 50). Think it was bang on £50. Tells the time, tells your HR. That is it. Sync's to the computer with a wireless USB dongle and has a decent strap. Not sure how big the strap is though. Website doesn't say either. I actually have it somewhere in the house as my dad stopped using it. If I can, I will measure the max on the watch and strap.

If your just using it for the gym buy the band, Technogym kit works with bands which are T31 coded, roughly £8 a band.
