at least 1Mb but it depends what you want to do, i.e. web browsing, online gaming, lots of downloading etc

A good place to start. FWIW I'm with Pipex and it's fine. Over a year now. £23.xx a month for 512kbps with no download restrictions.

I'm with Metronet. £10 + VAT per month for up to 560MB, then increases with usage to £24 + VAT for about 6GB, anything over that costs no extra. Setup fee £70 odd. Generally end up paying about £13-14 per month.

NTL with my TV. It costs £17 I think, although it's only 128K which is more than adequate for browsing. If you are a big time downloader/games player then you will need a little more.

I'll second that. Been with them for a year and a half now, no problems at all. Support staff are very knowledgable (helped me with my multi-computer set up) and aren't just script-monkeys.
