Brilliant App for the iPhone too. Can scan your items which makes it much easier.

Got a bit bored of it though, and kind of know the calories for things off the top of my head now.

You can link it to endomondo but not garmin connect (what a surprise) yet.

It's one of the very few websites I visit multiple times a day. It is very useful for logging a total intake for the day. I probably used to eat over 3000 calories (largely in biscuits, cakes and crisps) because when I was "on diet" I'd have diet breaks and just eat freely but log and that was creeping up to over 2500. (Am now focusing on bulking so eating more these days.)

Started using if just after Xmas on my Iphone. Have lost about 3kg to date just over 3% of body weight.

It remains to be seen if it keeps working for me long term. However, it is a superb app.

Tis a good question. I have been wondering how I can maintain leanness without logging. Surely, it must be possible? But then humans aren't designed to be walking around with six packs/low bodyfat.

I've been using it for just under a year now, in that time I've lost 5.7 stone and am still losing, albeit a little slower now as I work on physique.

It's usefull for tracking calories and is a great motivator, I am still logging everything I eat. My initial goal was to get to 95, now I'm aiming to get to between 82-85, currently 91.7kg this morning.

Starting weight was a whopping 128kg.

Wowsers. Thing is, I don't think I'd make use of all that food.

Wow! and well done. Any tips on getting the best out of the app and keeping the weight off?

By keeping the weight off, you mean you're at your preferred weight... so enter the info accurately and specify that you don't want to lose weight.

I've used it everyday since NYD and it's brilliant for tracking what you're up to, and also it can be quite surprising just how many calories some things have.

It's also good to shock yourself when you realise just how many calories the beer and pizza a Saturday night bonanza contains! yikes

Only had my first weigh in on Tuesday this week so it'll be interesting to see if changing my diet and tracking food intake on the app will have an effect.

I find the act of scanning something and entering it on my iphone before eating it, is often enough to make you pause and think, "do I really need this?"

Fantastic app. Even better when you have a few friends on there and you're all competing. Only found one problem with it, users can put in their own estimates for certain things and these results are accessible by everyone else. If you type in chicken kebab they range from 300 calories to 1200 so be careful when you can't scan something

Thought I'd give this a go. Firstly just to see what I am actually eating day to day as I am interested. I like that it will show you target RDA's for various nutrients and how much you have consumed in a day. Quite eye opening. Later I may use it to gain weight up to 80kg.

I eat far too much sugar (well I guessed this already) but also I don't seem to get enough potassium or cholesterol or get enough of the various vitamins.

I do have issue with how it works stuff out though. At 6ft 2in and 75 Kg apparently I need 2600 calories per day under the active person setting. Seems a lot? Though I did use one of those clever scales once that told me my base rate was just under 2000 calories per day.

Also I aim for 3-4 swim sessions (3 - 3.5km per hour) totaling about 5 hours. 2-3 gym sessions at an hour a piece. For swimming they just have generic "vigorous lane swim for xx minutes". Doesn't really cover the interval type training you get in a normal swim session. Whats more I could probably do 100 m freestyle with the same energy and time it takes some one who doesn't swim a lot to do 50 m. I.e. I am getting more done per unit of energy than an average person. So I am not sure their quote of nearly 900 calories for 70 minutes swimming is anywhere near correct.

As for their strength training recording, it appears to not burn any calories....(ie the app gives you no calories burnt for such exercise) That is nice to know. Lifting for free!I am wondering if linking to Endomondo and entering strength training data that way will give you the calories back as Endomondo will at least guesstimate based on time spent on that type of exercise.

Yup link it to endomondo and just use their calorie info. The food intake also then appears (on endomondo) on the health page with your BMI
