Had some time to myself the other day and I got thinking about this...

Which car gets passengers to 60 the quickest? It’s hard to explain exactly what I mean so I think its easier to look at the basic formula: 0-60 time of the car divided by the number of seats in the car.

(Lets keep things simple and ignore the added weight of passengers which would increase the 0-60 time, and use manufacturers claimed figures.)

I originally though Mclaren F1 (2.9/3) at 0.96667. But I’m guessing there are some large 5 seaters that can easily get there in less than 5 seconds?

So, what car is it?

Can you get 7 in the new E63 estate?

A T25 Impreza can hit 60 in under 4 and carry 5 [that right?], so can an Evo 360.

Can you get 4 in an R35 GT-R?

There's also the RIPS 1340hp Nissan Stagea...

R63 AMG, 0-60 in 4.9 seconds divided by 7, so that's 0.7.

Are you counting the E55/E63 with it's '7' seats?

Ignoring buses, the seven seater R-class AMG must do quite well. 4.9/7 = 0.7

Or maybe one of the super-SUVs if any of them have seven seats?

The F1 Espace with the seats put back in?
I bet the Goodwood transit with the XJ220 running gear could fit a fair few people in the back...

The SuperVeyron is expected to do the sprint in around 1.8 seconds.

I had a bike once which would supposedly do the 0-60 sprint in 2.6 seconds. It seated the rider and pillion, so 1.3 secs/person in theory.

I'd wager the Brabus GV12 or G65 AMG would do well, seating 9.

Edited to remove my ignorance..

Standard cars though? Otherwise anything could be an aftermarket grenade spec engine.

The X5 M can be had with 7 seats and quotes 4.7 to 100 km/h. If you say 4.5 to 60 then you get 0.64.
