Finally after 4 months of waiting, some phone calls, my new tyres are arriving next week.

Have ordered 5 Goodyear Duratrac's as replacements for the worn out road biased efforts it currently wears.
The duratrac is a dedicated off road tyre with good road manners and a winter tyre rating, shouldn't be too noisy on road or affect fuel economy much. Wear rate should see me get 35-40k from a set before needing changed.

Only stumbling block is they need care when driving in sand, but we don't much of that in the uncivilised barren wastelands of Airdrie* so that's not a worry.

No more struggling for grip on off road days and suffering tram lining effects.

Picture of what they look like. Total overkill for going to college but will look good. hehe

So now I'm predictable and smell of stale cabbage.......remember to tell us when they've been fitted so me and my pal Stanley* can come round and see them in all their magnificence.

They are 255/55/19 111s.
£154 plus vat and shipping from Surrey. Then I need to get fitment sorted.
The supplier only got 100 tyres in and there are a few of us on the disco3.co.uk site wanting them. They can fight over the 95 remaining.

He only has the size above so far, the tyres are rather rare and Goodyear don't make huge batches.

Airdrie - You could set a bomb off and cause several million pounds worth of improvements.

Only if it was on the border with Coatbridge(probably the worst town in Scotland)

My problem was if I put 4 new tyres on the 20's it would have cost 3/4 of what I paid for the car hehe

Its a work horse shed so spending any money on it is very bad.

Don't. Talk. Pish.
Total improvement would be about £18.56. smile That's on a busy day as well. Coatbridge is the ste hole to top trump all ste holes though. hehe

Only cost is fuel, which it's great on using up. Well till tomorrow as it gets a service and a once over to see what it needs for the MOT.

You could have saved money by putting a winch on front of the car and getting Alfie to use 4 paw traction to pull you along!

I am slightly concerned that you are getting excited about rubber products! Exactly why do you have to drive into the middle of fields in the dark in a large car with fold down rear seats? Has the patter of tiny paws, made you want to hear the patter of tiny feet? Just asking!

Paul

Paul, i will not date your daughter's, as lovely as they are. So you wont be getting grandkids from me.
I know this will upset you but that's the way it has to be.

Alfie echo's the above statement and says hello. smile
