Thinking about swopping over to short induction hoses on my 4.5. Noticed that ACT now advertise Carbon Fibre ones. Anyone tried these? I have heard that Joolz supplies them with chip. How do I contact him?

Cheers for the help.

Joolz is the originator of the ajp short induction and mbe mapping.
He can map a 4.5 and also supply and fit short induction. Also linked decats. Also bespoke exhausts. Great suspension set up. And some brake upgrades. If you want a better road car or the ultimate trackcar then he's a top man.

Thanks for your time this morning Joolz. Your help is much appreciated. I'll be making a trip to Chesterfield at some point during my ownership of this car for sure.

Woah there tiger. That's a bold but incorrect statement.

Really do tell me more... Who was it? I thought joolz and cyclone designed and pioneered the specific (and much copied) short induction and that joolz was the first to map the mbe to the short induction etc?

Joolz saved my car from self destruction by curing the horrible pinking (due to an overly aggressive head skim), the fact that he also liberated a whole load of ponies at the same time was a very welcome side effect. Thanks Joolz!

My car has cats, badly corroded liners, worn tappets, collapsing airbox ports - and it still makes over 410bhp, thanks to Joolz (and his short induction kit).

LoL hello Cyclone. I thought you might turn up on this one. smile

Shall we start the bunfight all over again? (it sure has been quiet round here for far too long). The good old joospeed/Austec debate. Paul Austin and Mark Adams (using my car as a test bed) where amongst the pioneers, certainly of live mbe mapping. Joo stated on that thread' that he was working on mapping and exhaust mods (all, by his own words, for 'drive-ability not power') and that he didnt have any modifications in the pipeline.

Im not saying joo wasnt working on something, or had tinkered, or that he isnt extremely talented under the hood of an AJP8...and yes ultimately the first Austec RR power figure turned out to be high (although was surpassed and independently verified at SRR a couple of months later when fitted with the the test set of ACT short induction pipes) but the statement "Joolz is the originator of the ajp short induction and mbe mapping" is far from proven to be correct smile
