Great write up and pics, especially DC looking all big and mean on the inside cover! You fella's had so much fun last year, I think I'm gonna join you woohoo

I've now been given the OK to break silence and tell you all (as if a few of you didn't know or guess already) that after 18 months of "will he, won't he", followed by much disappointment and now finally delight, I have managed to prise the white TC car out of Martin's big hands. I hope Martin does not regret selling her, but if he does, tough poo, she's mine now hehe But seriously, I want to thank Martin for giving me the opportunity to own and pursue a dream. I truly hope we will still get to see him racing and not retiring just yet! I would also like to thank DC, Andy R, Darren S, Darren D, Bill, Fred T, Graham, Perry, JR, Keith (for holiday advice), Christian (for 1st race impressions) and last, but definately not least, Jason who has been his usual brilliant self, giving guidance and advice right along the way. You have all been brilliant so far with your help and advice. I know I will very likely become a pest in the coming months with lots more questions, but I hope you guys will all be patient with me, both on here and especially on the track rotate..... Now on with the mid life crisis I say! See you all soon thumbup

Great news Mark, sorry to see Martin bow out, but great to see that you've finally got the car you were planning on.
Have fun ,it's shaping up to be a cracking season, and im not convinced that weve seen the last of MC in a Tuscan either. biggrin

I think you're right Darren. Martin will be out looking for a race car that hasn't got a 2 piece crank yikes The fun begins!

Hi Christian. Yes, it'll be interesting to see how much bottle I've lost since then though weeping It was the '80's!
Yes, I did decide to keep the Sagaris. Couldn't bear the thought of not being able to find another one, should the racing be all too scary for me!

The spending. Ah yes, the spending. Got bad news already on that. Crank is snapped in half, straight down the middle! Being checked now for any risidual block damage. If the block isn't fubar-ed (God forbid), I'm already gonna be 20% over budget just for the rebuild! A very old crank by all accounts, with welded on blades can you believe yikes

Great picture of Chanty's car... looks like he has a Movember inside that helmet too hehe
Is the picture at a track ? If so, which one ? Or is it just Dave hooning around his private estate ?? biggrin

hehe Yip its a cracking picture. Love the heat haze next to the exhaust. It was a really nice surprise when I opened the cover biggrin.........No Movember going on behind that helmet Mike, it was a spare sausage I took along just in case I got peckish half way through the race wink As Perry said, that was taken at Oulton Park near Lodge Corner.

Don't know why i always seem to get sprint a week after everyone else but i finally got to have a peek today and must say what great pictures[love the inside cover shot] and write up!
You can just about make out my car at the back of the grid but nonetheless it made me grin like a cheshire cat & made all the effort and expense more than worth while smile
I've basically spent the last 35 years thinking about racing in some form or the other so to finally get there on 4 wheels feels great !
Really look forward to getting out there and getting to grips with these amazing cars this year.
So thanks for all the help and advice & roll on spring.
Christian
