I have 16 for supper, I was going to cook chicken/sun dried tomatoes in tarragon cream sauce type thing, because I know how to make it and it would be fairly cheap / not much prep..

throwing it out to the PH masses, what else is cheap and easy to make in bulk?

Cheers

Chris

Chili con carne. Slow cooked using braising steak pieces rather than mince though which gives it a twist.
Use chipotle paste to give it authentic Mexican spicy smokiness.

My go to meal for big gatherings

Beef stew / in beer / bourginon - get some nice beef from a butcher, cook for 5-6 hours, an extra hour while everyone arrives doesn't hurt.

Side: proper dauphinoise - will sit hot covered with foil for at least an hour. I have a great recipe if you want it.

Similar, Lasagna, garlic bread and a good salad, easy to make (even the day before) and just re heat.

Alternatively any large beef stew/stroganof affair.

Mine too.

'Jailhouse Chili' with a big pot of rice, plus garlic bread, guacamole, sour cream, grated cheese, salsa, etc on the side.

Fish pie is the other alternative, only this is nowhere near as cheap to make as it once was.
