Nice! Always fancied doing a track day there but years of no track time need practice first

After the last experience at the ring it is off the cards for a few years until the idiots get bored and find somewhere else to ruin everyones time.

This here easter tour, what is the sort of costs for a 2 dayer at Spa? It has been 5 years since my last track event which was at Goodwood so really out of touch, in a new car too. I'm looking at a few local ones and possibly the BMW Snetterton event. If I get to Spa I want to enjoy the time with confidence of refresher training in advance but to me Spa has always been my place to go over and above the Ring.

If you can manage to get on a DN day at the 'ring, then there are normally no idiots to ruin your day. The M3 feels like it belongs there as the gearing is absolutely perfect. It does a bloody good job at Spa too. Just be sure to upgrade the brake pads and you will be able to run a good few laps before giving the car a rest.

Can you tell me more about these DN days?

Our last trip to the ring was 2 years back, it was the last weekend so I should have been wary and it was constantly closed for 3 days solid. End of the 4th day last possible chance we managed to get on, I was taking family around so kept to the right and indicating as you do only for 4 idiots to pass 4 abreast racing. Now I know its a "race track" and to expect much faster cars but everyone knows it isnt a "race day". So 4 abreast forcing me off the track, even going slowly at 80. Now schadenfreude is not a nice trait, nor would I ordinarly have enjoyed this moment but 4 corners later we found them all crashed along side the armco. Did I stop, did I help? No, upon seeing they were ok and already alerting those behind (ie me) of the issue I drove past chortling to myself at their expensive end to the season.

Perhaps that reflects poorly on me but through their cocking about they forced someone off track, crashed and closed the circuit again ruining everyone elses fun.

Whilst there the Nissan GTR club had a private session that looked really well run, I presume a DN day is the same?

All the information you need. It is very well run with a mixed group of people. Everything from 500 quid track cars to 300k supercars and everything in between. There is a very large PH presence and there is a relaxed atmosphere. Darren runs the events and goes under the name ringweekends on here.

the track day itself is around £300 per day... tuition can be pre ordered and is usually very good and reasonable cost.

Thanks both! I'd probably only want to do a few laps and the Open Pit is not something I'd want to do as I'd rather go out in groups based on (lack of) ability but it certainly is a great price for a day when you consider some of the airfield days over here!

I'm going to the Spa trackday on easter sunday and there is a whole group of PHers with Cerbera's that are also going. Sounds like it's going to be a good trip.

Great, I'm also planning on staying at the Ring on the Friday night as it looks like it's open for Tourist days on Friday and Saturday.

I'd be keeping well away from tf at ring on the friday, it will be utter carnäge, check most of the youtube crash vids, huge majority are from easter fridays.

Sat maybe better but still not ideal, pick another date of do the DN days after spa, or the eve sessions if can't Spare the dosh för DN days
