Mirror adjustment
Discussion
My n/s mirror on my '95 Chimaera is becoming 'loose'. Not floppy yet, just keeps moving under wind pressure above about 80 mph!
I've had the door trim off but up where the heated mirror wires pass through the door, there seems to be just a hole, no nut / screw / bolt to tighten?
I've tried sliding (?) up the black plastic trim under the mirror body and there seems to be a nut of sorts with grooves / indentations in it. Anybody know exactly how to tighten it or is a visit to a Ciroen dealer the best bet? (same as CX & XM mirrors apparently)

Should be easy enough and yes you were in the right location. Its a bit of a pain if you have to take the mirror off the door (see my previous posts on this) but you should be OK.
In your case you should be able to lift up that black plastic cover and under that is the big boss which is actually screwed to the car door. The mirror is in turn screwed to this boss and tightened in place with a small grug screw (allan key head I think). Most likely the grub screw has come loose and the mirror is now slipping round under pressure. Simply tighted the mirror into the position you want and tighten up the grub screw.
Not much space to work in (fiddly) but simple enough.

Spooky this thread being already hear when I logged on, but driving home tonight my o/s mirror almost fell off, on getting home and investigating the 3 pronged metal bracket has now completely sheared off leaving me with a wing mirror dangling on the electric wire
