Agreed. However, the car above would be enhanced with N400 sills and the Aston Martin Carbon Fibre diffuser and splitter kit... In fact IMHO it'd be near perfect!! Understated is the word often used.

Ive always been tempted by the carbon undertray - it covers up the cheap mesh that rusts after a few years quite nicely and looks more "finished"
the rear spoiler lip is ok, if its body coloured a la V12 Vantage, but not a carbon add on bit
the front lip is just a carbon replacement for the plastic trim...this is nearly disposable, if you use the car daily its likely you will scrape it from time to time. I just fitted a new one after 5 years, its £50 ish and pretty disposable part....I wouldnt want to keep replacing a £1K (whatever) carbon one
as with most things, its practicality over cosmetic appearance...you cant drop the thing to the floor and still hope to use it to go to the airport carpark or not ground out on your fave bumpy B road....

Some would say we are 'old school', others perhaps 'out of date'.
Restrained understatement will do.
Oh, and looking from the front three-quarter position, I always feel that a lack of N400 sills,
does make the rear wheel arch part of the Vantage look wider. It emphasises the arches.

I gather we both prefer our AMs to have the traditional, smooth, understated look. Not with bits added
just for show rather than function, or black 'four' spoke wheels.
The stirring reference was only meant to be a light hearted comment, meaning both of us.
We could possibly be in the minority on this topic.
Incidentally, to me McLaren's use of exposed carbon fibre, somehow does not appear so much
of an added afterthought. I think perhaps they choose to leave parts of the 'chassis' exposed,
because that is what the whole 'chassis' is made of.

The front splitter is very subtle and not much different to the plastic splitter of the original design. I've never grounded mine.
Having said that, there are a couple of local roads with particularly vicious speed bumps which I avoid. The Carbon Fibre front splitter is FAR better looking than the cheap plastic trim!
The rear Carbon Fibre diffuser is beautiful! It really cleans up and modernises the back end of the car. This kit is a fantastic upgrade.
There are some people on here who would argue that, had they designed the Carbon Fibre splitter first, you should leave that in place rather than change to the metal slat and mesh version!! At he end of the day, only you can decide which looks best for your car. Stick with Aston Martin design accessories and you can't really go wrong.
