My most recent fasting blood test showed my LDL to be 2.1 which is higher than the recommended 2.0 (I have heart disease). However, my HDL was 1.8 which I think is pretty good.

So, does my reasonably high HDL offset my greater than optimum LDL? (my Triglyceride is 0.7 if that's relevant).

HDL:LDL ratio wants to be as close to 1 as possible basically. Yours is would appear to be slightly more than that, but a ratio of 2.5 to 3.6 are considered to be ok... for someone who doesn't have heart disease... apparently.

edit: although on a quick search I've also seen places say a ratio of 0.4 is preferred.
