I know there are many types of sports exhaust on the market and out of interest as my S2 is having it's first service next week I phoned the dealer and asked for a price for supply and fit of the Lotus sport version - the answer scared me sh**less - £600 bar a couple of quid!!!

I think that's a little steep to say the least - needless to say I won't be buying one but I thought it might give you all a chuckle!!

Will look back at past postings for other options.

yes - thats right...and they only warranty the stainless version for 12 months...whereas most aftermarket ones are for 5 years or lifetime...I found out when my Lotus stainless one broke after 2 years

Bad luck on that score Bogie - just been admiring the photos of your Elise, fantastic looking beasty by the way - can I ask where you got the 'Lotus Sport' transfers on your side sills?

Even though mine is Armourfended, still pick up chips along the side and thought a couple of those might disguise them a bit.

Cheers

LOL Arno - isnt the Tubi about £1K and the Yoshi nearer £2K for the complete system ? !

The stickers - you get them free from Sinclaires when you have your car serviced there...well I did !

Blimey!! Suddenly the Lotus Sport exhaust looks a bit of a bargain.

Bell and Coleville will supply the lotus stainless sports exhaust for about half that - tyre monkeys will fit it for 20-40 quid!

IIRC my dealer wanted 4 hours to fit an exhaust backbox!

It also depends on what you are refering to as the "exhaust"....
Manifold, Flexi bits, CAT, Back box /Tail pipes...
That lot could cost you 1-2k without any problems....

In my view... if your going to tune your car, dont skimp to much now and put in a 4-2-1 manifold and Racing CAT now, swallow the cost or it will just cost loads more longerterm with labour costs, lambda sensors, heat wrapping etc....
