180bhp 1.6L turbo, 6 speed manual, 6.9 0-60mph, and £17k.

Given that the standard Fiesta is considered a good steer, it all sounds promising. Thankfully, it looks much better than the new Focus ST too.

Standard PH disclaimer; I did a search and didn't find anything about this. If there is already a post about this, the PH search function is entirely at fault. Had nothing to do with me, honest.

I absolutely can't stand Ford dashboards... why do they have to be so awful?

I like it. The Fiesta is good steer. It looks good and the interior looks nice too.

Yup, gut reaction to the photos and stats is that it looks like a good little car. Obv I won't buy one, but can see the appeal for some.

Quick side question, who would buy one? Surely anyone young enough to want one can't afford to insure it? /massive generalisation.

Not a bad effort at all. Relatively subtle I suppose. I also like the dash, it's a bit try-hard, but at least it's not too dull!

I like that and would seriously consider buying it if I was in the market for a new car.

The price will certainly attract buyers, especially when rival cars are more expensive.

Each to their own, both of my cars have very spartan dashboards. When I drove a boggo fiesta ages ago I pretty quickly decided that dash would drive me mad, and then as I was typing that comment ^ I realised that I couldn't think of a single Ford dashboard from this millennium that I actually like!

As an RS Clio driver, I would have it over the new model of my car due out later in the year. 33 year old, no kids and don't do many long distance journeys.

I saw the thread title and thought, "let me guess, 1.4-1.6 turbo, 170-190bhp and just under £20K."

Slightly cheaper than I thought then, priced more similar to a Fabia VRS which I reckon it would be more desirable than to people looking for a quick small hatchback. It looks good and the stats look good too, I'm sure it will sell well.

No amount of random creases down the sides can disguise just how slabby the Fiesta is frown I'm guessing those are at least 17" wheels, possibly 18's? They look tiny against the vast flanks of the rear quarters.

Annoying, isn't it- those wheels are at least seventeen inches, and they look small under the weight of that massive rear quarter and the high window line. Modern car design.
ETA: Mr2Mike- no fair, you editted that tongue out

I quite like it. Will still be getting a Mk2 Focus ST over this though.

I couldn't agree more - they are dreadful, they look like the love child of a late 90's hifi and a 2005 Nokia handset. Completely put me off ever considering a Focus/Fiesta for the 3 x mini-HHs.

Same for me, unless you spend the cash getting a one with built in sat nav; you're screwed if you want a good looking head unit system/sat nav as it looks like some butchery of the dash would be needed to accomodate it.

They're 17" wheels as standard with no larger an option.

It's good value vs it's competitors, I'm looking forward to blasting our demo down some B roads in March

What I do like about the mk6/7 Fiesta is that Ford made a real effort to make it lighter than the previous models. I bet it's a hoot to drive and aside from my dashboard gripe I'd love to borrow one.

Having been an owner of a mk6 Fiesta ST for 7 years I'll be very interested in seeing what this will be like. Local dealership has said they'll get their demo around March time so I'll have a nose round just for sheer curiosity.

I like this whole new "Kinetic" design but those wheels are just awful. I hated the mk7 Fiesta dashboard with avengance but this is a little more toned down. Less mobile phone like as it were.

I think like the mk6 ST it will be very popular but some just wont be able to afford it straight away so the first owners will likely be more established ones (in terms of having the money & ability to insure it to start with). You can get decent enough mk6's for anything between £4K to £8K now. Knowing Ford there will be lots of things new owners will be able to do to up the power, etc etc so it wont be long til you see modded versions too.

No doubt it'll be very popular, looks great. I'm sure it'll be very chuckable, if a little slow.
