Got 200 miles to cover tomorrow heading to the continent, ferry is noon.

Will leave early, car is prepared with winters, but what is the likelihood of traffic chaos. Do you think people Will people stay at home in anticipation of snow?

I assume ferries run regardless of snow. Suspect it is unlikely for the channel to freeze over wink

Having done courier time in snow, prep a backroad route. I saved hours of sitting in jams by doing this and rarely stopped as a result - winter tyres should make this the easy option if the silly people have jammed the main arteries (unless it's monster deep).

Was almost scuppered by a fallen tree once but the chap in the pick-up in front had a chainsaw smile

You should be fine on the roads (assuming you're driving to Dover) if you leave your location (Northants?) before about 1000.

Don't take that as gospel, though!
