Hi all, a few questions regarding the test day on the 9th June.
I cannot make the 24 hr so I thought I would get my fix of driving there/back and checking out this years
cars by attending on the Sunday.
So can you camp in Maison Blanche?
Are there any facilities open inside for food/drink?
What is the cost of the entrance ticket?(I do not have a General ticket for the main event)
Do all the teams have to test that weekend?
Has anyone been before and is it worth it?
I did contact the ACO but they told me no info was available at the moment.
Thanks for any input, Grondo

Little info from last year:
http://www.lemans.org/en/races/test-day-of-24-hour...

So entrance is 15 euros.
Don't know about camping. I've done the testday twice before, in '99 and 2001 and then I've camped on one of the inner-circuit parkings.
But as it has been 12 years, my info is slightly out of date frown

If you have a ticket for race weekend, it covers test day as well.

Was it worth it? Oh yes it was. Way less people, and more oppurtunities to come closer to the cars.

And about camping, if it's not possible to pitch up on the circuit, this is the closest campsite in the area:

Vince thanks, I was looking at the idea of just taking a small tent and pitching inside or at the
Go kart area if its open

Or even a better hotel a bit further away. It is easy to get to the circuit, you just turn up, park for free, and buy a ticket at the gate.

It is great to see; you will not believe the size of the Audi set up for a test.

You could probably pitch a small tent by your car, but if you have seen postings from Lowdrag, there is a huge risk of theft from nomadic persons who know there are easy pickings.

In recent years there has been camping available at the circuit for the test weekend. Last year it was on Houx and was only about €10. The ACO usually lets us know which site is open closer to the time.

Thinking about doing this as won't be going to the race itself this year, so info welcome.

Vincegail said there are more oportunities to get close to the cars. How come please?

It was the day before the actual testday and teams were setting up their stuff and I was able to get in the pits with no problem.

But it has been 12 years, don't know if all is still the same.

Thanks for the reply. Can't imagine paddock entry would be that easy now (friend used to take great pride in sneaking into the paddock hidden behind a truck; never got caught, but that was a good few years ago).
