The Wife had a crack at this today despite the snow. Wow, has this changed. When I went on it when it first started there was about 30 blokes, we got a couple of laps of the circuit each, one crack at the skidpan, one crack at that lifty uppy thing and that was that. The Wife had hours on track, about 20 goes on the lifty uppy thing, countless lurid slides into the freezing skidpan proceeded by posh brekky and posh 3 course lunch. Definitely worth the trip. Here's some very dodgy phone pics. They were doing a photo shoot today of some exceptionally tasty Pork. Fell in love with the Martini Turbo..

I was there today with my wife as well. A really useful day and not what I had expected at all. Tuition on how to handle tricky road conditions was brilliant, with little emphasis on driving like a mad man or woman!
We had back to back drives of 991S and standard Boxster. Call me a heathen, but the 991 seems to have lost the agility of earlier 911's and has become a big GT car. It felt heavy and awkward compared to my 997 I had a few years ago. In comparison the new Boxster is a quantum leap in comparison to the last model. IMO its what a sports car should be. Can't wait for the new Cayman. For me It's a 'no brainer', a Boxster and Cayman in the garage for the price of one 991, but guess its all about personal taste and that's what makes the world go around!!

Dead right, I went into the OPC to try the new Boxster and thought wow that's great, and just by curiosity asked if I could try a 991, 14 miles later I was sold I just love all the things about it others don't, I love the size and feeling of weight, the road presence and the fact all four of us can have fun. So everyone is different always makes me laugh when people come on here and ask "35k to spend 987 or 997" there can only be one answer, go try both and buy the one that YOU like best.Ullers said:

It's funny - when I went from my 996 to my 997 I felt exactly the same way. I drove two 991s there on Tuesday (having driven my own 991 C2S to the facility). The first one I drove did not feel right not as tight and weildy as my own. The second felt sharp and tight as a drum.Having lived with it now for over 2000 miles, in Sport mode and suspension set to firm I find it has many of the roller-skate qualities of my previous GT3s. What I do find is that the Boxster (which I agree is an exceptional car) seems to be set up for greater response at a lower throttle angle (I have noticed this on a number of new Boxsters I have driven) and the 991 needs more throttle angle to respond. Probably set up this way to address the absurd level of fuel economy it achieves. Learn this and use more angle and immediately the car feels more responsive.
