... getting the Chim out and getting some empty roads, great scenery and following the route below. Roof off, fresh air and shades on.

However, it's dark, freezing, the roads are covered with snow and ice, the wife is ill, the kids are ill, I've been stuck in working for days, apart from my forth trip to Tesco for various remedies. grumpy

The Stelvio Pass and Grossglockner pass are 2 fabulous roads, I drove along them routes in August last year, I hope to do them again soon in the Chim smile

They look great. Must be a fight to concentrate on the road with scenery like that!

Lets just say there are plenty of stops for photo shoots, obviously in your line of work, to drive them roads is a must wink

I last did the Grossglocknerhochalpenstrasse in 1974 in an 850 Mini with drum brakes.......which gave up three hairpins from the end. It was August and there was snow at the top.

Time to do it again in a TVR

Doing a trip like that is on my bucket list. Wish I'd done in in the Cerbera, but never got round to it. Once I find the right Chimaera...

Minis... fond memories, definitely viewed through rose tinted spectacles! The wonder of BL! Could you imagine bump starting a 1.7 tonne diesel barge on a winter morning? smile My neighbour has a very old (and unrestored) Cooper in his garage.

Looks like you're still hankering over a Cerb Ged! They are special cars, I agree. You have to take the plunge... "come on in, the water is fine!!!" wink

You couldn't be any further from the truth smile Been there and done the Cerb thing. The greatest road rocket I've ever owned. But won't be returning to that fold. As good as it was, there was always that feeling of impending doom/outlay just around the corner. Don't think I ever truly relaxed in that car hehe But that was part of the appeal.

No, I'm hankering after doing a Euro road trip incorporating those incredible roads cloud9

The Cerb is what really got me interested in a TVR. I wanted one bad and then did some research and changed my mind. £3k bills seemed the norm on a Cerb. It's a bit of a love hate relationship. Like finding the ideal woman; great figure, looks and personality but only to find out that she watches too many soaps and daytime TV... costs you all that money up front. You can live with it for a while, but then it gets too much biggrin

I'm into adventure, but my tent days have long finished... give me a clean warm bed, and a good breakfast with fresh coffee. Then I'm ready for the day!

Yeah I'm just being youthful, sometimes it's a joy but where would you put the kettle, on top the bonnet should boil it mind.
Mmm after a good day in the Tvr saddle reckon you need a good bed.

I used to do a lot of that in my youth, but the days of Bergens, hexi blocks and bivvy bags are a fond but distant memory (if not a little chilly and tiring at times)!
