I'll be sad to see the old livery go as it was so long-lived and recognisable, as well as matching some of the Amtrak trains quite well, but I do like the new one...

I flew AA once and swore at the time never again.

It's unfortunate as most of my travelling is MAN-ORD and AA are the only direct flights.

As I'm FF with Star Alliance I therefore take an alternative routing that both avoids AA and also gives me mileage and the chance to try other SA airlines - typically use LH or Swiss.

You'd no more get me on an American airline than I would listen to Chris Evans in the morning.

Not a fking chance, new logo or not.

Pile of ste in my experience. Stroppy, tatty, old and the planes aren't much better.

I echo all the above. They are truly awful. I flew with them once, never again.

Sad to see the AA logo go. A version of it has been featured on all their aircraft since the 1930s.

Why don't they have the flag the right way round on both sides? Odd.

Common practice with many US airliners.

They look on the leading edge of the fin as the "flagpole" so the stars always are next to the leading edge or the "forward" part of the aircraft (if the flag is on the fuselage)- no matter what side of the aircraft you are looking at - just the same as it would be if you were looking at a real US flag flying on a real flagpole.

TWA used to do the same when their airliners had a small US flag on the tailfin - over the TWA logo.

Nope I used to be a regular on the " Glaxo express" LHR-RDU and only had one bad flight, I found most us airlines to be much the same, now as for BA there's more chance of hell freezing over than getting me on one of their planes!
