Seems a bit of a waste as 1. doesn't show the driving of it 2. they would have to do the same to get it back down again. You would have thought they would have come up with something better.

Don't forget this was just one of many events. There was a centenary video released the day before that showed plenty of driving - racing cars from Stirling Moss' days through to now, Bond cars from Goldfinger through to now, and various other shots of the cars being driven. Plus in the summer there are all the driving events in the summer, the concours day and the racing day. This stunt was probably just considered the best way to get a bit more interest from the Middle East.

The stunt co-incided with the 'world luxury expo', held at the Burj, where the vanquish was lifted onto, from 15-17 january so one assumes that is why Aston did the stunt there and on that date

As you say there is an awful lot planned this year that we know about and probably some things that we don't - I'm as quick to judge Aston as the next man and most of us do it through a passion for the brand but until we get to July, we can;t take an overall look at the strategy for the centenary
