Hello,

The 2 bumpers on my Fiat 130 need rechroming, and I have been amazed at some of the quotes I have received.

What sort of cost should I be looking at for 2 bumpers, and can anyone recommend a decent company in the Kent area ?

Thanks

Whereabouts in kent are you? I know of a place in East Grinstead that does chroming, rough estimate for my MGB bumpers was c£200. I never followed up seriously as not at that stage yet.

I am near maidstone. £200 would be ok, I am getting some quotes for much more than that, which seems expensive

I sent some stuff off to Ashford Chroming recently. Not had it back yet though. They seem like nice folks to deal with.

Not got a good rep round Ashford, but may have changed recently...

I hope you have a better experience than I did. I was quoted 4-weeks turnaround for polishing my inlet manifold, it took me 4-months to get it back from them.

That seems to be a common thing, I wonder if the chemicals involved cause them to substitute the word "week" when they really mean "month". I had some stuff done in the midlands, should have been two or three weeks but was much longer.

Most of the quotes I've had for my bumpers on my XJ coupe have come in at around a grand!
