I'm on the cusp of spec'ing a new Defender and am taken by the Barolo exterior colour as I fancy something out of the ordinary. The Landrover website isnt that good really. Anyone have any photos or opinions which might help me decide? It will be a long term keeper so I'm not bothered by resale values.

Barolo is fantastic. I sold 2 Evoques with it. On a dull day it just looks black. On a bright day the red comes through and the colour really pops. I think it will look very cool on a Defender.

Thanks - just what I hoped to hear. I have asked for a quote for a Barolo Defender 110 utility and will see what comes back. Apparently they are Bespoke (ie long wait). I think I might be their first customer swapping his Ferrari 456 for a Defender. The defender should be better in the snow despite being three times slower ...[url]

We've ordered a Havana Defender 90 XS with the upgraded seats for a showroom car.

It'll look ace with silver chequer plating and a raised air intake.

Oh, and lights. Lots of lights...

Havana was my first choice but my wife's friend has a new Havana Discovery so that became verboten. Havana defender in Edinburgh will be delicious, much like the cake at that cafe above the train station.
