I'm trying to upgrade the disks on the front and rear of a standard Mk1 tuscan.... what do I need to buy from AP Racing? can I just get away with disks and callipers? anyone done it and have the models used?

They are already AP brakes.....how are you trying to upgrade them and why. The standard ones are pretty good.

Just for your info - make sure you have the later calipers - i tried to upgrade the front discs to the larger ones on my 'w' reg tuscan, ordered the spacers as well, which you will need. when i tried to fit them, no chance. I still have them if you're interested.

I can't see the reason for upgrading the brakes. They work perfectly on my Mk1 even on hard use in the German, Austrian, italian mountains. The S spec brakes tend to overbreak the rear end. I recommend to leave them as they are. You want to drive the thing and not brake it down - right?

My Mk1 tusc registered in 2000, had the big brakes with separate rotor and bell. When driven back to back with a Tusc with the standard brakes their was a noticeable difference in stopping power and fade.

Mind you, new disks and pads = £££££££'s

Switch to DS2500 pads as they are much better than the standard TVR Ferodo compound.
