perhaps in the technical section? i've had a few questions regarding these things over the last few months & have had to resort to using a specialist forum instead, where inevitably although run by enthusiasts there seems to be a lack of actual expertise.

or perhaps it could be combined with the sat nav section?

I'm sure there was a similar thread recently where the response was no due to the notion that it may attract chavs and text speak (innit)

I doubt this would happen though if it was moderated in a similar fashion to the current forums.

I meant car electrics, vehicle diagnostics etc etc

There's some properly good advice in the technical forums but nowhere to specifically ask about electrics & ice.

IMHO, diagnostics are pretty well covered by the Technical group of sub-fora.
