Wtf happened the new Clio?

Now I wouldn't call the older shape Clio's good looking cars but they were always ok. Just saw a new one in the flesh for the first time and it was almost offensive.

The front end is such a complete mess, I honestly thought it was a very bad body kit with some halford day light running lights strapped in a stupid place, but no the car is actually that ugly.

Sorry, you're talking about the car whose previous advertising was exclusively focussed on its having a fat arse, what do you expect ?

We all should. No, really, I'm being serious.

The crappy budget cars sell in far greater numbers than Renaultport Megane 265's and they have to sell well enough to fund the nicer stuff. If Renault don't make a profit on the dull bread-and-butter stuff, they won't be solvent enough to be around to make the two-generations-from-now Megane 265 equivalent, nor the Alpines that have been mooted recently.

We need these cars to be inoffensive to their buyers and sell well or we won't have toys from the nicer bits of their range. Getting that wrong is why we don't have a newer version of an MG ZT V8.

I think Clio 4 is pretty good looking....
