I wanted to change my 2006 Audi A3 2.0 TFSI S-Line for something different as I have had it for 2 years.
There is nothing wrong with it but as cars go you just get bored.
As I have changed my cars pretty much every year (bar this one) its really hard to change a quality motor for something that I will get bored of again and losing more money hand over fist!!
I am now looking at a re-map for it instead and keeping it another couple of years if that is ever possible for me!!.
At the moment it is stock 197BHP with 207lbft torque.
The Revotechnik remap will increase the BHP to 255 and the torque from 207lbft to 285lbft.
Has anyone had a Revotechnik remap with this engine?
Are there any other remaps that people would recommend?
I don't want a Bluefin and do it myself, would like a garage to do it as if they mess it up, it can be rectified alot easier and put back to stock when I come to sell it.
Ideas would be appreciated
Many thanks

I had a revo map on my 07 Leon FR (2.0 TFSI) and it transformed the car. Before the map the turbo was very progressive and never felt all that fast, after it had a lot more power lower down the rev range and felt considerably faster and at that time the map only took it to circa 240 BHP (I put the map on after a month of owning the car).

Just (last tues) had a "Revo" map done on my 61 plate S3.

Presume it's the same engine, only S3 has the turbo.

I loved the car before, now, I wanna marry it.

Noticeably better, in both speed and torque. And in the 300 miles since done better MPG

I believe "+1" is the appropriate response to that.

I think with that sort of power going through the front wheels some decent rubber will be required.
I think on Monday I will be making a few enquiries on prices for a re-map

I've been doing some research on remapping my Leon & these guys appear to have a very good reputation (try googling them) http://www.r-techpower.co.uk/

I did alot of research into this and the top 3 are, Shark, Revo, and R-tech. they will all offer a good remap, choice normally comes down to price and proximity.

I went with Shark as a got a good deal and the difference is night and day.

I am just in a dilema at the moment.
Keep my Audi A3 TFSI and get a remap, or change it for a Subaru WRX or STi???

I don't know much emphasis you place on the interior of a car, but if you haven't been in a Subaru do so - they look like they spent about 5p of the R&D budget on the interior.

If you're buying based purely on driving performance fair enough, but something to be aware of.

If your A3 isn't 4wd buy a STi or an S3.

They are cheaper interiors thats for sureyes however I would stick my neck out and say there probably more reliable than an Audi.
Audi seen to cut corners, Ive seen problems with our company cars as well as a couple of friends owning them.
Of course there will be people that have owned Subaru and had problems too.

I had a Revo remap on a 1.8T Golf GTI, and can recomend them. They can slightly tweek the map, so if for instance you wanted to remain on normal unleaded (as I did) instead of going all out for power and having to use Super unleaded they can do that.
It doesnt make much difference anyway in the real world.
Angel tuning are another company I would recomend.

I thought REVO would increase a 2.0TFSI engine up to 255bhp, not by 240BHP?

I've heard really good things about Shark Performance too. Their map seems a little less aggressive than the Revo (240BHP vs 255BHP'ish on the Revo) - personally, erring on the side of caution, the Shark map sounds more appealing. Endless positive comments about them, their service and their maps on Briskoda! If I ever keep my Octavia VRS long enough I'd consider visiting them for a map.

I recommended Shark above because I once had a Passat TDi mapped by Ben when he was first setting up and it was spot on. Very knowledgable down to earth guy who loves his cars. Used to post a lot on Tyresmoke. Not sure if he still does.

I don't think anyone said they'd increase the bhp by 240 just that his car was mapped to 240

Mate of mine had an Octavia with that engine, he got a stage 2 remap with exhaust and filter, then promptly sold it for an Impreza Spec D, seems happy, the Skoda went to about 260 bhp.
