Help with a headache ive had for 4 days
Discussion
Hi all,
I rarely get headaches, usually only caused by drinking too much, and they soon go away. Due to work commitments in the last few years those headaches are also rare, as I dont drink that much. Over the last 4 days i have had a lingering headache which wont budge. Its a dull pain onthe top left of my head which is worse if i cough, sneeze or bend over, or get up too quickly. I will write down a few envionmental factors
- recently got a new office chair, which looked comfortable but ended up hurting my back. Back seems ok now, but my neck is sore
- i suffer from pretty bad sinus problems, and treat myself by avoiding certain foods which my dad cant eat either and using what is known as a 'nettipot' saline solution flush for my nose
- recently had a cold/flu, although wasnt in bed, slept a lot
- pretty stressed at work recently
- regular gym and exercise but since xmas, havent been due to terrible weather here
Pretty long list but hoping anyone has any ideas. Lots of scary stuff online about blood clots, tumors etc. Im 27, no previous history of issues and no cancer in the family.
Any ideas? Help appreciated

not had regular headaches for years and now got one lasting 4 days.... hmmm difficult one that...
Im going to go with.... Go ring your GP asap for an appointment.
Sounds like rundown from cold and then stress from it causing headache, more so when you worry about headache and self diagnose resulting in you asking on a website instead of a doctor.

Im drinking lots of water now, eating bananas (apparently the potassium helps). Ive avoided painkillers today so as not to hide the problem.

Perhaps. I drink too much coffee during the day, but have done for years. Wondering if i should drink one now, and see if that eases the pain. If so, perhaps im overdoing the caffeine.
It could be connected to coffee. I used to drink about 10 double espressos in a morning. Then decided I'd cut down.Started suffering a constant sharp headache which would come on about 2.00pm. This went on for several days, maybe weeks before I realised it was coming on each day around lunchtime and started thinking about things. Then I googled coffee withdrawal and the main symptom is headaches.
So I started drinking a couple of coffees and slowing the 'withdrawal' and all's been well since.

I do remember a few times where it went away, then came bk...so could also compound the problem. Thanks
