I've been car shopping for a few months now.
Looked at loads of different cars from golfs, focus, BMW 330 & M3, Audi S4 & A4, Honda civic/type r & integra, Hyundai coupe, Mazda RX8.

My heads gonna explode, don't know what to get, reviews are positive/negative on different websites which don't help.
The cars gotta be no more then say 3.5ltr for economy purposes.

Maybe a help from you guys will assist me.
15 years no claims bonus to use so not much issue on insurance.

Cheers guys n girls.

Buy the one you like the most or get a bus pass.

When you looked at them, did you sit in them or drive them to help your decision making?

I don't understand this. What did you like/dislike about each one? Why are they even on your list to consider? Do you treat cars like white goods or do you have any enthusiasm towards a particular make or fwd/rwd or saloon/estate? What do you want a car for?

You could go with an XJ220. Apparently you'll get 32mpg on a run, which is very reasonable.

I like these cars, I don't have a car at present so it will be a commuter, I've always liked German and Japan cars but seems that German cars are as not reliable as I thought according to friends that drive them.

And what conclusion did you draw from that?

Well, last August you seemed to have a better idea of what you wanted:

Hi guys n girls,

I'm Kameron from Taunton.

I have a query, my partner is kindly giving me a limit of £10,000 to spend on a car for my 40th next year, what do I buy?
The cars for commuting and private driving, it must carry 3 persons, have some boot space, great performace and not bad running expenses.
Ideas so far are: Audi A4 or A6, Vauxhall Insignia, Ford Focus RS or something similar.
Please give me some ideas, its difficult to pick a car when you've been thrown 10k and told to buy yourself a drive.
Current cars a Honda Civic S Type so my next cars gonna be a great upgrade.
Willing to spend £200 per year tax and have 19yrs no claims bonus so most quotes are fairly cheap, its just the fuel costs etc.
All advice appreciated.

You can spend ages deliberating if there is no outstanding choice for you - so is going to be new or second hand?

If new then make a list of all the good points/bad points for each (consider for commuting, so comfort may be more important than absolute handling) - then pick the best from top and get quotes.

If second hand find one you like, is in good condition and good value - buy

Stop worrying whether you made the best choice - usually the others would have been as good and as bad.

Generally depends on age and how well looked after/driven - e.g. don't buy diesel unless you are mainly doing longish runs (and previously dones so). The BMW I have just replaced is the only car I have had with almost zero problems (over 5 years one minor fault that cured itself helped with WD40), I am hoping the replacement is as good.

confused I didn't say you'd broken any rules?

I was simply stating that you had a clearer idea last August and perhaps that information could help us guide you a bit more.

No mate cos reviewing em online shows positive/negative reviews so thoughts stay neutral.

Was hoping some of you had one of my choices or previous experiences as for me it's all about recommendation rather then my first encounters.

Then go for option one - buy the car YOU like the most because it's your money and you've got to drive it.

At the end of the day it depends what your requirements are.
If your using it for business with loads of mileage then BMW and Audi diesels.

General all weather, moderate mileage I'd probably go Kuga with all the trimmings as 4wd and front windscreen but do like the new Land Rover Evogue.

The Honda Civic/Integra type R's dont really appeal to me it sounds like you want a performance car so why not just get a Toyota/Subaru car or one of the Nissans.

Mazda RX8 - You wont like the maintenance or the fuel costs

Hyundia - You are joking?
