most northern senior club in GB
and top of the most northern league.
35 years ago (when I went to Harmsworth Park regularly) they were blocked from entry to the highland league, too far away apparently, teams wouldn't travel the extra 50 miles beyond Brora once a year despite the Academy winning the North Reserve league 4 years out of 5. Players like Granti Maxwell and Robbie Sutherland moved on to highland league clubs.
Unfortunately I'm not a regular, and haven't been since the HL let them in (1994) but the sight of The Academy top of the HL is massive. A lifelong fan of Celtic & Everton, The Academy were the first team I watched regularly and those memories stay strong. The HL is 1/2 way through so things will change but who would bet against a first title and, come hell or high water I'll at Harmsworth for that!
