My 97 Griff 500 is showing signs of needing a new cam, I have a couple of questions:

1. It seems a lot of people recommend a 'stealth' camshaft, who is the manufacturer and do they do a cam replacement kit which includes all necessary parts i.e. followers, timing chain, sprockets, gaskets, etc ?

2. Is there a recommended downloadable engine repair manual that gives all the necessary information to carry out the cam replacement i.e. procedure, torque loadings, inspection criteria?

As we all know the PH search function isn't working and as suggested have googled, however I can't identify which would be the most definitive manual to use.

Grateful for any help

Thanks Guys
Been on the RV8R web site, very informative but not down to the detail required, however I have
just downloaded 4.0/4.6 ltr engine overhaul manual as suggested, it seems to have all the info required.

Just need to phone around tomorrow re the cam kit, short list is RPI Engineering, John Eales and V8 developments

RPI only did piper cams when I went to them, and although they will tell you they are the best, fitting a Piper was a bad idea now Ive come across some of the other offerings that work much better on the RV8. Dont forget to add TVR power to your list, their current 5ltr cam profile works well without introducing shunting issues.
