Bit of a lottery this morning but certainly showed the benefits of winter/snow tyres over 4WD on tarmac tyres.

Just trying to work that one out from the results as I didn't go up.

Top three all being 4wd and fairly predictable 2 6R4's and an Evo, Paul Swift in the Mk2 is no surprise at 4th, was he on snow Tyres???. 5th is an impressive result for Joe Cunningham and Daniel Kennedy in a 106.

Alex Lund was lying second after stage 4 in a Mk 1 Escort, driven like he'd stolen it.
Micra chasing down Escort Cosworth with horn blowing!
Morning was definitely one for the lower powered with the right tyres
Metro/Corsa/106/205 going better than the average evo on probably the wrong tyres driven like a granny!
Even between the same car ie 205 or 106, the right tyres and driving style showed through.
Paul Bird got a max on stage 1, then retired due to strange circumstance afte stage 2. Was driving a bit fast in the paddock considering the conditions.....
Looking at the results I think the afternoon stages must have had a cleaner track

Yes all mixed up then. Alex Lund drove that Mk1 like he stole it on the Christmas stages too, though it looked to be set up all wrong. Forest settings and Tarmac Tyres, it spent half the time on three wheels.

Another good run for Andy Smith in that Historic Spec Mk2, it's only got a modestly tuned Pinto in it, but he's so neat and tidy.

Alex Lund was lying second after the morning stages but the track must have cleared in the afternoon as the 4WD boys seemed to improve
Looking at the car it didn't look a miilion dollars but was seriously effective
