Just bought a 2007 MCS. Problem finding CDC on music interfa

Hi Just bought a 2007 MCS. Have build sheet which states that it has i-pod prep. Cable is in place in compartment above glove box were the CDC would go. The problem is when I connect my I-pod classic I get the mini logo on the i-pod but when I search for the CDC icon as per the mini supplied i-pod instructions on the music interface it is not there.
Any ideas would be good as BMW want £108 just to do a diagnostic.
