Just been quoted £445 for pads, pins and sensor. Is this about right?

The pads are quite expensive but it is a really simple job... 15-20mins. Also, unless you know it's fooked, you should be able to re-use the original sensor.

I'd put a quick call into a couple of other dealers to compare if I were you. wink

The pads alone are approx £160 but it really is a very quick job to fit... As such, labour should not be much.

It's a TDV8 Vogue. LR tells me the pads alone are £262, pins about £30 and sensor £25 if required.

...and £128 to fit.

  • Remove road wheel.
  • Pop 2x pins out.
  • Remove sensor.
  • Remove old pads.
  • Clean up and push pistons back in.
  • Insert new pads.
  • Attach sensor.
  • Insert pins.
  • Re-fit road wheel.
10mins per side.

The Brembo system is VERY simple.

As I said, put a couple of calls into a other dealers to see what they have to say. wink

...and according to these guys, the RRP is £133.71.

Duckworths do free postage to members of fullfatrr.com. I've had quite a few things from them recently and they are top notch.

Called round a few main dealers. Whilst my local one was indeed the most expensive, the difference was tens of pounds not hundreds. They have pledged to do me a deal.

Last time had a Range Rover serviced ...main dealer couldnt knock the pins out so wanted to replace calipers.

Took car to Deeside 4x4 ...they changed in 30 mins ...have a short punch handy to knock out pins .. they changed £230 ...pads / sensors & labour.
