playing pc driving games

im not very tech minded, but i have a logitech G27 wheel, and im thinking of getting something like rfactor. im guessing it wont play on my laptop, and wil need to get a proper PC with powerful games card?

any advice on the most cost effective set up?

my laptop is just a dell inspiron 1525

What sort of budget do you have in mind? Do you need everything including OS, mouse, KB, monitor etc or planning on using your TV?

minimal budget really. Need everything, except i wil use my TV and i have the steering wheel

depending on which mod (car set) you are running, Rfactor 1 is not particularly rescource hungry.

I have a 4 year old desktop which runs most mods ok.

Don't need massive power, I have a GTX 670 and with everything maxed on 1920x1080 I usually get about 130fps so something much less powerful would still be perfectly adequate.
