I bought a 4.8 x5 from them about a year ago. I agreed a deal with them and then had an independent inspection done. This brought up a couple of things and also the rear tv/DVD was not working. They sorted them all out before I picked it up and I was very happy.

The car has been fine so I've not had a need to go back to them but I did test drive a Lamborghini Gallardo with them before I changed to my V12V, the car looked ok but had a real lack of service history which they knew. They had put it into Lamborghini Manchester for a service and were quite open about me speaking to the main dealer so they did seem very genuine.

They are very local to me and I'd be happy to call in to look over something if they are a long trek for you (cosmetically though as I'm no mechanic)

Hi Jake,
Purchased my V8V through LB.
Very good company to deal with, but I'd urge you to avoid their preferred warranty company Auto Protect.
As with most warranty companies, a complete waste of time. They will wriggle out of paying for just about any repair that you may need to claim for under their really vague "terms and conditions" .
I've found that the only warranty that's worth paying for is the AM extended warranty. Pricey but could save you a fortune.
Auto Protect have so many loopholes you'd be lucky to get any claim from them.

Rant over.

Lawton Brook however, very good.

Thats a huge turnoff to be honest
If the warranty is rubbish then they know its going to cause issues with customers and use them anyway
Main dealer cars arent looking too pricey at the mo, i test drove an 06 vantage in sept at hwm that was 44k, similar now is sub 38...

To be fair I don't think any non-franchised dealer warranty is worth it as there always seems to be to be a way for them to avoid paying or avoid paying in full for work that needs doing. IMHO I would only buy from a non-franchised AM dealer if the price difference was significant so that if necessary you could pay for an AM inspection and then adding a real AM warranty to the car.

It does seem however that AM dealers prices are never that much more than the non-franchised dealers and in my experience the non-franchised dealers don't offer compelling discounts either.

Personally, I'd either buy from an AM dealer or find a good private sale and save the warranty money or purchase the AM warranty for peace of mind

I bought a 997 from a well respected indi who also services cars. I had some minor issues that wd never be covered by warranty like rattles and a split stone-chip protector foil on the wheel arch, and they fixed them all for me for free no questions asked. This is the benefit of buying from a place that also services. He also said he is personal friends with the owner of the warranty company and the guy pays out for all the various known issues that 997s suffer from. Its great peace of mind, are there any aston independent dealsers like that as peace of mind is good to have on a car with such expensive parts. I know there are some good dealers but they dont seem to offer service too?

You can try McGurk they have a good rep. Or Chiltern Aston (if they have newer models in stock).
Also Nicholas Mee.

I've bought two cars from them - first was an SL500 some years back, the the current V8V in August last year.

Nothing to worry about - they are quite expensive (not far from main dealer) but if the trade-in is a different marque that is appropriate to LB, that will mean a good overall deal.

They are all exceptionally nice guys which means a lot to me and if there's any issue, they will bend over backwards to help.

I've called on the provided warranty (Autoprotect) several times - two door latches, two oxygen sensors (separate claims), a parking aid module & buzzer) & I'm sure there was something else but it escapes me at the moment. I had the work carried out at JCT600 in Leeds - there was no apparent wriggling from my perspective & settled direct with JCT.

Highly recommended. As with a previous poster, they are 15 minutes from me, so happy to do first check on your behalf if you wish.
