Make and model? (they're 195/50/15, if that's any help)

They look more like a winter or all season tyre, look at the spacing on the blocks on the outside.

Not available, right now.

Thanks for the help, but I've discovered they’re Chinese, BCT S900.

And my fears confirmed by these reviews: http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/BCT/S900.htm

So I’ll be replacing these if I buy the car.

Identical tread, and a good tyre, but the ones fitted to the car in question are marked BCT, I've discovered frown

A copy then. That's what they do. It looks the same, so it is the same. Bloody Chinese. /rant

Either that or another tyre made by the same manufacturer using the same mould shape but with a different compound. I've never heard of BCT.

Why do people skimp with the likes of QingChong cheapos... those four patches, each the size of a credit card in motion, are what keep you attached to the road...

Saying that I had Nankang winters on the 9-5 that came with the car, whilst absolutely not spectacular in performance, they did alright... tyres are not things I economise on though in the main, shed or not.

Its very common for Chinese manufacturers to copy well known tread patterns and apply their own tread compounds as it saves them a fortune in development and design costs; hence their nice low price.

There's over 600 tyre manufacturers in China alone so any quick gains can be quite advantageous.

If they are those Chinese tyres in the advert, they are directional and mounted the wrong way round in your first pic. . . . . . .
