Looking for a 4.7V8V. Is non franchised service on an issue?

After quite a few months I managed to sell my previous car privately. I'm now looking for a replacement and was considering a V8V 4.7 - ideally a sport shift roadster. I've seen a car I quite like the look of which meets my criteria, however, its last service back in November at 4 years old was undetaken by a non AM dealer. Should this have any bearing on my decision to purchase?

Well, let us assume it's not a dealer of note. Does the fact that it's not an AM franchise devalue the car?

Difficult one Mark. There are people on here who would rather their car was looked after by Bamford Rose than a main dealer. I really think you need to find out and then there will be masses on here who will try to help Can you not just make a call
ETA. Mine missed a service completely and I don't mind. Some would I'm sure

Mine has Indy and Dealer stamps - does it have ANY Dealer stamps ??

Also, you can pay to have it inspected by a Dealer for Warranty purposes.....£300 or so IIRC

Or get BR to inspect it and do the job properly

The first three stamps (when under warranty), are AM. The last service in November is from a non-franchised garage.

If it is the white one I'd haggle with the private seller to get an AM service and stamp in the book. Or knock the price off and get it done when you get home with it.
BTW I'm not sure that is Morning Frost, looks more like Stratus White
It it may well have a sport pack on it.
Check the roof liner for wear as well

You could speak to the Dealer about it and enquire about the cost of an Inspection if that will reassure you

No extended warranty and I'm not too concerned about reasurance, more thinking along the lines of whether the lack of a full AM history would have an effect upon value?

Good you will get a better choice
That car is one of the first 4.7's.
It also has mudguards on it.
If it is Morning Frost the clear rears would really set it off.
Oh and lose the front plate holder!
Shame there are no internal pictures
Price is a little high IMHO
My 23k mile roadster of same spec and age sold from a main dealer for £52k 18 months ago
But it is the cheapest 4.7 on 'trader
