Hello dear Pistonheads and TVR addicts,

I have been on the lookout for a T350t for quite some time, mainly doing research so far.
Now, the time has come to get serious and jump on the Tiv train wink

So, is there any one of you that might have some intelligence on these two T350t s on sale right now:

1)
Came up 2 days ago: DS53 TVR
http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...

I haven't heard a great deal of chatter about the seller so far. Are there people that have done business with these guys and what are your thoughts?

2)
On sale for quite some time:
http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...

Colourwise I seriously prefer number two, but what worries me is that it has been on sale for so long (bad omen?). Also it seems to be a model with the side and rear (thus less sealing) targa panel catches. So this should make it one of the first types of T350t produced, without upgrades (fuel filler cap ring, luggage cover, sun visors, finger boot recess..)?

I would be really glad if there were some kind people shedding some lights on these T350s.

Oh! Since I'm at it, what's up with : http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/use...wink There have been one or two posts on that on here but without much informative detail.

Thanks a lot and best greets!

Let the Tivs roar smile

The laser blue car should have all of the upgrades you stated. My T350T was registered in march 04 and has the earlier side and rear targa catches. The redesign I think would have been the second half of 2004. After messing around with my targa panels I've nearly eradicated all the wind noise. Just got to sort the howl around the door seal. When I bought the car the wind noise would started at about 60.

I'm surprised they haven't cleaned up the engine bay on the second car you listed.

The rebuild and later spec of the blue car is worth way more than the 3k extra cash over the other car, though it's worth bearing in mind any warranty from Power will have now expired given it was done in 2008 and came with a 3 year ticket from Dom. If seriously interested the last 2 services were done by Jason at Str8 Six so may be worth a chat with him.
These cars are never truly quick sellers, mine was on the forecourt of Castle for a year before I bought her.
The Target cars one - bargepoles are for sale next door smile

IF you want a 4.3 though with 4 1/2 years remaining warranty, full respray, new carpets, refurbed wheels, air con and full leather then let me know if your interested as I may be selling end of next month - though if I do it will be more than the blue car.

Shmoo Automotive have sold quite a few TVR's, the owner is a nice guy who is very easy to talk to and honest. They currently also have a Cerbera for sale.

The 3rd car was bought by Target just over 1 year ago for around 14K from the previous owner who had it repaired, it is listed as Cat D, The mileage is really low and the repair is good. I nearly bought it but lost out at the lat minute on a well known auction sight. IMHO they are asking too much money for it.

My T350T has the later roof catches and was built in April 2004.

Personallly I would buy on condition and history above all else. Look for a meticulous history.

Dear all,

Thanks for replying so vividly smile This forum is just so great!

I'll do some further research and contact various people.
I believe I'll rule the Target one out of the equation, though, based on info I read on another forum (PM if you'd like more info).

I'm really antsy to finally get my hands on my dream T350t, but I guess I'll have to wait for spring when the trade is living up again wink

If anybody has more info, keep'em coming smile

BB53 TVR was my old car in 2011. I owned it for 18 months and drove 4000 miles in total (26k->30k)

A few details seem incorrect, I was the 3rd owner, sold it to another PH user so he was the 4th owner. The colour is Pearl Blue not montreal blue. It also does not do 195mph.

What else would you like to know?

Hi aaron,

Thanks for commenting.
Quite odd, that there seems to be a mishap with the owner count - weird.
Well in general, what was the state of the car and your experience with it when you owned it? Any bigger quirks I should look out for now?
Also, did it have some/all of the upgrades (luggage cover, rear/front targa catches, finger boot recess etc.)

Feel free to PM me smile

No problem. Exterior condition was very good, I had the front half and rear diffuser resprayed due to stone chips just before I sold it so was pretty mint. Interior was good, slight fading starting on carpet round the gear stick, slight wear on seats, a small repair at some point to leather on dashboard passenger side.

Overall experience....loved it. The sound was unreal with the JP exhaust, forget track days as its running at 120db. The hatches were carbon fiber and were surprisingly quiet up to 90mph. I had it a rolling road and achieved good power 351bhp.

Few minor gremlins, passenger door wouldn't open sometimes, and drivers window failed to go up was rare though. Battery would die after 3 weeks or so so I always had it on an accumulator.

David Batty TVR serviced the car twice (once me, and once the new owner I think).

I bought it off a chap on PH, the guy before that had bought it from new.

Below is the sale document I had for it when I sold it:

Here is my TVR T350T in pearl blue which benefits from all the 2004 TVR revisions such as sun visors, bolted fuel cap, boot recess and a fresh front respray.

Quick Spec:
Pearlescent Blue
Carbon fiber roof and panels (fit very tight so minimal wind noise under 90mph)
Gaz Gold Pro coilovers fitted at 26000 (2010) with full Geo set up. (Selby TVR)
JP exhaust.

All TVR interior options:

• Carbon fibre roof section
• 6CD Multi-changer, DAB radio
• Full extended Navy and Cream hide
• Air Conditioning
• Rear extendable boot cover
• 2004 sun visors, bolted fuel cap and boot recess, updated glove box lid (Factory fitted)
• TVR colour coded seats (added extra)

Front T1R's have done 5k so lots of tread left, rears are medium wear.
Passenger battery charging port

12 months MOT (expires April 2012)
6 Months Tax
29800 miles.

Mole Valey pre deliv inspection @ 25 2003
Racing Green TVR @ 1000 2003
Harrogate TVR @ 6000 2004
Harrogate TVR @ 12000 2006
Harrogate TVR @ 16000 2007
Selby TVR @ 22000 (Inc valve clearances) 2009
The Garage TVR Specialists @ 28000 2010

The car has been used an occasional weekend drive and has performed faultless throughout, never let me down, ever. In fact statistically more reliable than both a BoxsterS and M3 I have previously owned.

The car has always been meticulously warmed up prior to driving, by both me and previous 2 owners. It also benefits from a fresh front respray (and rear diffuser) this month costing £1000, car is immaculate with zero stone chips. Both keys and original manual/paperwork all present.

Hmm. So, a previous owner has maxxed the car out and failed to reach 195mph? - I'd stay clear wink But don't listen to me - when I bought mine the ECU definitely said it had been taken up to 224mph and that couldn't be wrong, could it ? rofl

Hello again, sorry for lack of reply. I have been quite busy the last days.

Aaron,
Thanks for all the detail you've provided! smile

And blimey, that looks lovely in the pictures! Really puts the water to my mouth! I'll get in touch with the dealer and ask where it's been serviced last, so i'll try and find out a little bit more about its current condition.

Weird thing though is that it is on "DS53 TVR" reg mark now, but when it was yours it was BB53 TVR. How come? Or are we talking about 2 different cars, after all?

Have a lovely Sunday you all smile

Same with my Sag - and that was when I bought it new in 2005 - TVR must have given them a thorough running in before delivery to the customer rofl

I assumed that was due to the dash sweep on startup, or just another foible?

Well, it cetainly looks like my old car, down to every detail. Have you verified the registration?

I guess there a chance its not, but odd to have such similar plates, mileage, options, colour etc.

It's definitely a different car guys - I just sold it to Dave at Norwich Classics!

I had it for 4 years and only sold it as I wanted something more usable on a daily basis - just bought a Z4M Coupe.

It's exactly as its listed, but PM me if you want more background.

SwiftyDS,

Thanks for posting.

What a coincidence. Almost the same number plate and almost the same specs!

I'd love to PM you, but the system tells me that "the user does not allow emails" ... no idea how to circumvent that.

But I would be interested in any kind of background info on general condition, engine, chassis, 2004 upgrades and of course, the experience smile

Best greets!

Forgot to say.... It is Montreal Blue ( it's a pearl BMW colour and the original order sheet from Blackpool with the car shows this) it has normal black seat backs and armour fend on front.

Might look similar spec and I know there weren't too many in this colour .... Oh and no 6 CD changer!!
