Buying sons company car at 3 years from Lex
Discussion
My son works for a multinational and his golf gtd is up for change in March. If I could get it for sensible money I'd quite to buy it from Lex rather than them farm it off to an auction somewhere.
Is there a good strategy for getting a bit of discount, or do they just offer it to me at book price? I like the car ( 18" wheels, some other nice bits) but don't want to pay retail for it.

You'd think they would be keen to sell, no auction/collection fees etc.
I thought the same but apparently not, they did try and get more out of me later though by claiming the service book was missing, luckily I had the pick up driver to sign for it so I could refuse it easily.I nearly bought my company vehicle off Lex at the end of its lease. They had a set price they had come up with, no haggle room. It was a good price for age/mileage (compared to advertised prices on AT) but having known its history over the first 5 years of its life I felt it was too much. They are probably all going to be plus VAT incase you didn't already know.

Sons asking, so I'll see what they say.
If its high miles Lex normally send them to Manheim Coventry. If its low miles and a saleable car (ie a modern Golf diesel) I've seen them go back to the VW network. Vindis retail some of the cars they supplied to lease companies when it's time for them to go back.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
