New Vantage - more carbon fibre? Drivetrain?
Discussion
As you may know, the 1-77 carbon fibre load bearing monocoque was made in Canada by multimatic.
Now Multimatic are running four V8Vs in their racing team

So - maybe they'll be using this as a way to prototype new carbon fibre technology with Aston Martin?
Since Gaydon does not seem to have much engineering firepower and has hollowed out per Bez vision of outsourcing perhaps this is how the next Vantage will be developed?
Since the straight six turbo engine was pretty much an epic fail - anyone know what'll replace the V8 (if at all) and the V12 when Ford get fed up subsidising AML?
Thoughts?
PS I just hope we can see some news about AML partnering with Xtrac to get the IGS box into the product line up alongside a ZF 8 speed slushbox automatic.

Don't Ford still owe 15% of AM?
I would think the V8 and V12 engines are safe for now, unless ford close that plant, relocating the tooling for them might not be economic.
I've not driven a modern Merc V8, so I don't know if they're sufficiently Aston-y though I suppose they've been retuned in a number of different cars, so must be fairly flexible.

Interesting on the Multimatic Vantage link, might well be a way forward
I can't see AM ditching the V12 soon, they need to maximise the ROI for the knock control etc they just put in the 310quish and soon to appear on other models
(is it in the Rapide S?)
I also know the V8 has been tested @ Gaydon with higher outputs so there's still some "mileage" in that yet
When does the Ford dealer run out?
I don't think I'd mind AM using AMG engines, people like Zonda do it successfully!
Though I don't think I'll be in the market for a while now
I suspect AM will continue in the vein of the VH cars, making small improvements that can be rolled out across most the range and numerous Ltd Editions, maximising "impact" for lowest cost. I can't see the recent equity injection making much of a difference.
Shame really I would love to see them take the fight to McLaren, Ferrari and Lambo
