Was wondering if the techs of Pistonheads could help me, basically I've won a competition at work and the prize is a single DVD player with or without blu-ray of your choice.

I haven't a clue what I'm looking for when it comes to techie stuff like this and was just wondering what other people would recommend me to choose!

Any help would be much appreciated...

Cheers, Oli.

Depends on what you are after. Given it's a competition and providing the Limit isn't idiculous then the Cambridge BD651 is probably the top Machine you could get. It's about £500. On the Cheap front I'd go for the Pioneer BDP-150 which as well as playing DVD and Blu-Ray plays SACD discs as well. Hence it's Audio performance is pretty good. Richer have them at £85.

No, they haven't put a limit on the form they have given me so i dont know what they would or would not allow. Which really helps... rolleyes

The only thing they specify is that it has to be a single disk. So in my mind that could be anything really couldn't it..??

This is why ive turned to you guys as i haven't a clue what to get!

Thank you for the replys people..

Or if you already have an amp with HD decoding, then the Oppo BDP103 for £500 as the video quality is exactly the same. wink

Ah, but if someone else is paying for it, then go for the best!
